Local conversion

VideoIntoGIF reads the video you select directly in your browser. Trimming and GIF conversion happen on your device. Your video and the resulting GIF are not uploaded to our servers.

What your browser downloads

Your browser downloads the website, locally hosted fonts, and the conversion engine from our hosting provider. The engine loads when you first convert a video. The opening workspace also downloads a bundled demo clip. These downloads do not send your selected video to us.

Hosting and technical information

Our hosting provider may process standard request information, including IP address, browser information, and request timestamps, to deliver and protect the website. VideoIntoGIF does not require an account or include advertising.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and usage. Your browser loads the Google tag from Google and may send page URLs, page titles, referrer information, interaction events, and browser and device information to Google. Analytics cookies may be used to distinguish visits and sessions. The converter does not send video file contents or generated GIFs to Google Analytics. Conversion still happens locally in your browser.

Files and browser memory

Selected videos and generated GIFs are held temporarily in browser memory. Replacing a video or closing the tab releases these files. GIFs you download are saved to the location you choose on your device. Your browser may cache the website and conversion engine.

Your control

You can cancel conversion, replace a file, or close the page at any time. Only select files you are comfortable processing on your device. Browser extensions and other software installed on your device operate under their own policies.
